About Saint-Bris Sauvignon

Simonnet-Febvre’s 2021 Saint-Bris Sauvignon, made completely with the Sauvignon grapes, was recognized as the best wine of its varietal. It delivers the outstanding qualities of an award-winning wine, thanks to the location where the grapes were harvested. Cultivated from the Saint-Bris vineyards in the Burgundy region of France, where the weather is cold allowing the fruits to ripen slowly and achieve a more enhanced complexity in terms of flavor and aroma. The minerality of the soil in the vineyard also influences the wine’s taste.

This single-varietal wine has a light yellow shade with a tinge of green. When brought close to the nose, it shows strong aromas of citrus fruits, especially lemon and grapefruit, along with notes of green herbs, white flowers, and a touch of minerality. A sip of the Saint-Bris Sauvignon brings out the acidic taste of citrus fruit combined with green herbs, blackcurrant leaves and a hint of grassy notes.

Given its flavor components, this refreshing wine pairs well with dishes like grilled or pan-seared fish and oysters or shrimp cocktails, making it the best wine for seafood restaurants. The white wine is also good with salads and fruity desserts.

About Simonnet-Febvre

While its Sauvignon took the Double Gold Medal at the 2024 Sommeliers Choice Awards, Simonnet-Febvre is best recognized for its Chardonnays. Having manufactured wines since 1840, the French wine house, with such a long-standing history, has focused itself on producing single-varietal wines. Each wine perfectly expresses the exceptional flavors and aromas of the terroir where its grapes were grown. In addition to Saint-Bris, Maison Simonnet-Febvre is also known for manufacturing wines from vineyards in Chablis, which is located on the northern side of Burgundy. Simonnet-Febvre also prides itself as the only Chablis winery to make a selection of Crémants de Bourgogne wines. The Brut Blanc sparkling wine from this collection even won a silver medal at the 2024 Sommeliers Choice Awards with 87 points.
